Wet 'n' Wild

Seems like that was the name of a water park in New Mexico from when I was a kid. Hmmm... maybe it was from another state, nonetheless, it also describes my kids today. It is definitely summer in Utah and HOT! We joined Amy and her kids at the Gateway Fountain for a little summer fun. You can see from the pictures the kids did not have any fun at all.

After a fun hour at the fountain, we dried off and went to library to learn about FROGS and spend some time reading. Hurray for the summer reading program. It turns my kids into mad, crazy, book fiends all summer.

Johnny Cash inspired us. . .

So the lyrics to the Johnny Cash song "Jackson" are not really refering to WY, but MS-- big deal. We had so much fun at Yellowstone, we decided to head to the other side of the Tetons for another weekend getaway a couple of weeks later. We rode the stagecoach in town, rafted down the Snake River on a float trip.

We also hiked around Jenny Lake and rode a tram to the top of a mountain. William thought that the hotel we stayed at was "fancy" (We really have to get that boy out more often!) A wonderful time was had by all, especially the 3 outdoor loving boys!

Mini Me

As if this boy could look anymore like Tara, he has decided he loves taking pictures like mom. During their days together, they walk around the city looking for photo ops. I think Romney got better photos than Tara did that day!

SK8 or Die!

William saved and saved and saved and is finally the proud owner of a new skateboard. He is practicing diligently and is now able to cruise down some medium sized hills at the skate-park. Too kool for skool.

Soccer Star or Chorus Line Member?

With a kick like that who can tell? He loved playing soccer. He just didn't like that there were other kids also playing soccer with him! Too crowded around the ball. He got in a few touches to the ball. Next week is the last game and trophy ceremony perhaps that will make the whole playing with a bunch of "weird" kids worth it. If you think the yellow jersey is bad, you should have seen the florescent green! The poor kids wearing those looked sickly and vaguely alien-esque.

36 hours to spare, what do you do?

We decided to hit Yellowstone. We needed a quick "get out of town and have an adventure" trip, so we surprised the kids after the normal Saturday morning soccer game and headed out of town. We had fun looking for wild life and enjoying the plethora of colors and mother nature's marvels in the most famous of the national parks. Romney's expression also perfectly matches his personality. That's our 4 year old!

Let's see who is smarter, Tara or Blogspot

It appears Tara wins, as there is a photo attached to this post! We took a January jaunt to So. Cal. for a Legoland, Disneyland, and visit to our favorite Annie &Q trip. We also sneaked in a little beach time.

Getting Started

So, the rest of the world has a Myspace, Facebook or Blogspot account and we have decided to give it a go. What are the chances of us actually having time to update this page? I guess we will see. An experiment in technology: Way to keep in touch or time sucking nuisance? We shall let time be the judge.
