Where Did The Past Month Go?

This spring has flown by. Until recently, it has flown by in a flurry of snow and rain showers. Our annual Egg Hunt with friends was on the verge of cancellation this year, saved at the last minute by a peak of sun through the storm clouds, long enough for us all to enjoy some good company and the for the kiddos to delight in their quest to find candy filled plastic eggs. (They have both learned to just leave the real ones on the ground, because they are gross and who wants those?) The only snafu--a last minute change of venue when Gilgal Gardens was locked (I guess they heard we were coming). We ended up at Bill and I's favorite park (and location of our engagement).

But before the egg revelry began, the boys woke up to find baskets of goodness and new bikes. (Well, it was new to Romney anyway). Since Romney inherited William's old bike instead of getting a brand new one like William, Bill and I (in an effort to assuage our guilt about the inequity of the situation) had Romney's "new" bike tuned up, added new grips, a kick-stand and (the piece de' resistance) a sumo wrestler shaped bike bell. We knew that Romney would find it hilarious and really who wouldn't find the view from the handle bars (see the next photo) hilarious?

I mean, really, who wouldn't want to ride behind that and get to squeeze it whenever they wanted? It is too awesome. In order to let Romney have a chance to really try out the Sumo Butt Bell, (as well as a chance for the rest of us to see the sunshine) we left straight from the Egg Hunt and headed south to St. George.

We hiked all over Snow Canyon, and explored new bike trails, and "rock climbed" (more like bouldered) and played at fantastic play grounds.

We did run into just a little bit of rain, but it produced views like this one and also prompted us to add a day to our mini-vacation.

The rest of the month has been spent enjoying the great outdoors. We have been walking and scootering and hiking and biking around our home. The boys are both doing well in school. And things have been very steady and even around here. (Nothing to complain about). It does seem to make for uneventful blog entries, but a pretty cushy, lovely life.
